American Idol was always hosted by FOX, a channel that Sling offers in its lineup. Although the show is no longer going, FOX still runs reruns very often, and select episodes are available on-demand. It’s important to note that FOX live streaming via Sling TV is only available in select areas, but on-demand streaming is live nationwide.

Catch American Idol Reruns using Digital Antennas and DVRs

How does fast-forwarding through commercials and pausing when you want for however long you’d like sound? Awesome, right? With a DVR, you can do just that!

Did you know that you don’t need cable to have a DVR?  Today’s over-the-air DVRs pair with an antenna to record over-the-air TV networks. With American Idol shown on an over-the-air network such as FOX, you can access it free with an antenna. We recommend the Mohu Leaf 50, a high quality antenna that will receive a local television signal inside a 50-mile radius.

As far as an over-the-air DVR, there are many options on the market with each having its individual specialties. We suggest the Tablo, which offers all the conventional DVR features (recording live TV, pause/fast forward/rewind, etc.). Also, the Tablo allows you to stream recordings and live TV straight to your devices wherever you go.
