This Sunday, the 2015 installment of WWE Survivor Series takes place at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. WWE looks to finish out the year strong with this Pay-Per-View, which is notable for a few reasons (the 25th anniversary of the Undertaker’s debut, the culmination of the WWE champion tournament, and more). Let’s take a look at how the card is shaping up, make some predictions, and get Survivor Series free live stream information!
WWE Survivor Series 2015: Matches and Predictions
Charlotte vs. Paige (Divas Championship)
After this past Monday night, this is probably one of the most controversial womens’ matches of all time. A lot of fans are pissed that WWE creative “went there” by having Paige bring up Charlotte’s deceased brother. It was crass to be sure. However, WWE basically said it was Charlotte’s idea. Who knows what the truth is. Whatever the case, you can bet lots of fans will tune in to see Charlotte get her revenge. Kayfabe may be dead, but you gotta think there will be some anger and resentment built up over this angle. Look for Charlotte to land some stiff shots in for an emotional victory.
Undertaker and Kane vs. The Wyatt Family
What a let down this angle has been. Honestly, after the ending at Hell in a Cell, I was excited for where this would go. Maybe Bray Wyatt would finally get the “dark” push he deserved. But no, since then Taker and Kane have just made him and his minions look like chicken-you-know-what heels.
Unfortunately, it looks like creative is going to use this as another excuse to crush Bray and make sure no one can take him seriously. Which is beyond me.
On the other hand, Taker is a man of business. And I find it hard to believe that he’s one to try and hold talent down. So I’m hoping that he pushes the powers that be to allow him and Kane to put over Bray once and for all. Making him the phenom of the new generation. So screw it, I’m going out on a limb here.
Prediction: Bray cheats his way to a Wyatt Family victory
Roman Reigns vs. Alberto Del Rio (WWE Championship Tournament semi-final)
It looked like Alberto Del Rio has a fire and direction when he came back and stunned Cena with a victory at Hell in a Cell. But let’s be honest here…whether you think WWE is going to have Reigns win the title or not, there’s no way he doesn’t go over in this match. So I won’t waste your time with this one.
Prediction: Roman Reigns
Kevin Owens vs. Dean Ambrose (WWE Tournament semi-final)
I’m actually looking forward to this match quite a bit. Kevin Owens may be the best heel in the industry right now. Ambrose has the potential to be the Stone Cold Steve Austin of this generation. Both are good workers. And both are over with the fans.
So who’s going over? Well, there are a couple of ways to look at it. If WWE wants to go with a traditional babyface vs. heel in the finals, then they’ll put Owens over so he can go against Reigns (and lose). On the other hand, sending Ambrose to the finals could set things up for a couple of different swerves that I’ll talk about below.
Prediction: Dean Ambrose
Reigns vs. Ambrose (Prediction for the WWE Championship Tournament final)
The fans obviously want to cheer Ambrose and boo Reigns, so maybe Reigns makes a heel turn and sets up a big feud so fans can watch Ambrose seek revenge on the way to the Rumble.
On the other hand, WWE could have Ambrose turn heel, really surprise everyone and win the belt, and then let Reigns chase the title some more. This idea has some pros and cons to be sure. On one hand, it could totally back fire, since the fans would likely still cheer a heel Ambrose when he goes up against a face Reigns. On the other hand, the beef with Reigns is that people think WWE just wants to hand the torch over to him rather than having him earn it. So making him continue to struggle towards the prize (even though we know he’ll get it eventually) will help make the pill a lot easier to swallow for all those smart marks out there.
And finally, there’s the scenario that WWE puts Reigns over clean, no swerve. Please, oh please, don’t take this route guys.
Prediction: Reigns goes over clean and Twitter explodes
TBD vs. TBD (Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match)
For awhile there, we were all scared the WWE Survivor Series 2015 line up wouldn’t feature a traditional elimination match. But that worry has passed, as a traditional match has been announced. But the question is, who will it be? There are lots of options, and more than likely it will at least feature Team New Day. However, I’ve gotta say…this reeks of a last minute afterthought, like when they throw a bunch of randos in a six man tag at the beginning of a pay-per-view because they couldn’t think of anything better to do. Thus making it difficult to care.
Prediction: New Day over someone
