Want to watch every game of what’s sure to be an exciting season for the Vikings? For years, football fans have been locked in to paying for expensive cable packages just to watch their favorite teams play the game they love. Gone are those days! Today, you can legally stream NFL games online in a variety of ways. If you’re looking to watch the Vikings online this season, read on to explore your all of your great streaming options in the US and abroad.
During the NFL preseason (full preseason streaming guide here), the options below will present the best way to watch a Minnesota Vikings live stream.
Use Sling TV for Minnesota Vikings Streaming during Preseason
Sling TV, the mega-popular online streaming service from Dish Network, is a great way to watch the Minnesota Vikings online during preseason (and regular season, but more on that later).
Sling provides access to many of the most popular TV channels out there. In most NFC markets, they offer FOX in their channel lineup, which, if you look at the Minnesota Vikings TV schedule (see below), you’ll notice that FOX is set to host every single Vikings preseason game! That means if you live in the Minnesota area, you can subscribe to Sling TV for as little as $25 a month and watch every Vikings preseason game this season!
Sling also offers valuable NFL channels like NBC, ESPN, NFL Network, and more. Plus, enjoy access to live TV shows, news, music, movies and more across many of TV’s best networks. NFL Network will be particularly awesome during the preseason, as the channel will broadcast ALL preseason games this year! Many games are offered live at broadcast time, with the rest offered as same-day or next-day replays. Local blackouts apply.
In fact, you could actually use Sling TV’s free 7-day trial to watch the Vikings online free for a week!
Watch Every Minnesota Vikings Preseason Game Live Online with NFL Game Pass
NFL Game Pass is a relatively new streaming service for football fans in the US, launched just last season (full review here). It replaces the popular NFL Game Rewind. NFL Game Pass is perhaps the best way to watch the Minnesota Vikings online during the preseason.
With NFL Game Pass, you can watch every out-of-market Vikings preseason game live on a variety of connected devices. That means that as long as the game isn’t showing on TV in your area, you’ll be able to stream it live on Game Pass. If the preseason game is airing in your market, you can’t stream it live, but you can watch it on demand shortly after the broadcast is over. NFL Game Pass Domestic also offers all 256 regular season game replays on demand on its service, but we’ll talk more about that later.
NFL Game Pass is available for just $99.99 per season — an absolute steal compared to cable TV prices. You can watch the Vikings on Game Pass using your phone, tablet, computer, Apple TV, Xbox, Chromecast, and other select streaming devices. Also, for a limited time you can snag a free 7-day trial of this awesome service to try it for yourself!

Watch a Minnesota Vikings Live Stream with Sling TV
Sling TV is a live TV streaming service from Dish Network (read my review here). They offer several awesome packages, with up to 60 channels available. The service requires no contract, and provides a great way to watch Vikings games online.
For football fans, the most important channel offered by Sling TV is FOX. Take a look at the Minnesota Vikings TV schedule below and you’ll see why – FOX will host about 80% of Vikings games this season. FOX is included with Sling TV’s “Blue” package, but only in select areas. Luckily, FOX is offered in Minnesota, so you’ll be able to watch every Vikings game that comes on FOX live.
Also of note, Sling TV offers ESPN streaming, which will let you watch Monday Night Football all season long. NFL Network is also included, which covers Thursday Night Football, and offers a TON of awesome news/analysis/etc football content. Finally, in select areas, NBC streaming is also offered, which means live Sunday Night Football streaming every week!
Sling’s packages range from $20 to $40 a month, and are all available with no contract. You can use the service to watch Minnesota Vikings on Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, and most other streaming devices – plus on smartphones, tablets, computers and more.
If you’re interested in using Sling all season, I suggest taking advantage of this limited-time offer Sling TV has going right now. If you sign up for 3 months of Sling TV, they’ll give you a free Roku streaming device, or you can choose to go with a discounted Apple TV.
You can also watch the Minnesota Vikings online free for a week with Sling’s 7-day free trial.
Watch All Vikings Games Online Live with NFL Sunday Ticket
NFL Sunday Ticket is a very popular service from DirecTV. Most DirecTV satellite customers can add this package on to their subscription, and indeed Sunday Ticket is actually included with many existing packages. Basically, the service lets you watch all out-of-market NFL games live. The service is $49.99 a month.
Here’s something most people don’t realize. You may be able to get NFL Sunday Ticket without satellite TV. That’s right, DirecTV now offers a streaming version of its NFL Sunday Ticket service. If you’re a qualifying customer, you can live stream all out-of-market Sunday games from your computer, mobile device, or streaming device (Roku, PlayStation, Xbox, etc.). That means you can watch the Vikings online live without cable.
There’s a catch — NFL Sunday Ticket streaming service is only available to customers who meet specific qualifications. If you can’t get DirectTV’s satellite service because you live in an apartment, dorm, or other qualifying location, you may be able to sign up for NFL Sunday Ticket streaming. The basic service starts at $49.99 a month for the four-month season. However, students get price break. Most students can subscribe to the Sunday Ticket streaming package for just $24.99 per month.

Watch All Vikings Games On Demand with NFL Game Pass
Remember NFL Game Pass, the league’s streaming service that lets you watch out-of-market preseason games live? With Game Pass, you can also watch every game of every team for the entire regular season, but there’s a catch. Regular season games are only available on replay on-demand, not live. They are posted not long after the game airs, typically within a few hours on the same day.
While you won’t be able to live stream the regular season games using Game Pass (review here), it’s still a great way to watch the Minnesota Vikings online at your convenience without missing a play. This service is perfect for those who don’t have cable and those who don’t mind waiting until a few minutes after the Vikings game is over to watch it on replay. Game Pass even offers 30-minute condensed replays of Minnesota games, which lets you watch every single play of the game in a fraction of the time of a live telecast.
Game Pass is $99.99 a year, and there’s a free 7-day trial for those who want to test out the service. Click here to learn more.
Watch a Minnesota Vikings Live Stream with PlayStation Vue
Another good Minnesota Vikings streaming option is PlayStation Vue. This service offers its subscribers live streaming of more than 50 popular TV channels, including ESPN, NFL Network, as well as FOX and NBC in select areas.
In regards to NFL coverage, Vue and Sling TV offer the same content. Vue’s plans start at $30 a month, so it’s a bit more expensive. Vue also does not work while outside of the house, while Sling TV does. See our PS Vue review to learn more.
Enjoy Every Vikings Game Locally with an Antenna
If you live within the local broadcasting area of the Vikings, you can catch all their games directly on your TV using an antenna! That includes any games shown on ESPN or NFL Network, as they will still be simulcast free over the air to those in the local broadcasting area. By picking up OTA (over-the-air) channels, you can also watch featured games of the week across the league in HD on CBS, FOX, and NBC! Check out AntennaWeb to see which channels you can pick up in your area. If you don’t live in the Vikings broadcast area, it’s still possible that some games will air on the major networks if they are the featured game of the week.
If you already have a working antenna, you’re good to go. If not, I recommend checking out our guide to the best antennas.
Here’s a tip for getting the most out of your over-the-air viewing. A DVR lets you record Vikings games and pause, rewind, and fast-forward live over-the-air TV. You can even stream your recordings and live antenna TV directly to all of your connected devices anywhere you go with some DVRs. This is a great way to make sure you never miss a Vikings game this season. Click here to check out my complete guide to OTA DVRs.
For international readers, the best ways to watch a Minnesota Vikings live stream are below:
Watch the Vikings Online with NFL Game Pass International
The NFL offers an international version of its Game Pass service for those outside of the US and US territories. The difference between the domestic and international versions of the streaming service? NFL Game Pass International offers live streams, not just on-demand content. That means you can watch the Vikings online live if you have the international service. There may be some blackout restrictions in certain instances, but Game Pass international is the best way to keep up with the Vikings and all other NFL teams no matter where you live.
